The author and sole owner of Self Reliance Self Defense is a United States Marine Corps veteran and a career veteran law enforcement officer with over 25 years of experience. His background has included duties in patrol, investigations, SWAT, police supervision, police firearms training, taser training, and defensive tactics instruction. He is a USCCA certified firearms trainer with a black belt in Shotokan karate, a House of Worship Security Team Leader, and holds a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Policy.
